Bahnhof Tanz

Lyrics "Bahnhof Tanz"

(David Munyon / S.P. Standley – Sept. 2nd, 1996)

This song was written with the idea in mind and heart that everyone on the Planet despite their „Religious“ or „Political“ beliefs could love each other and Bless each other, and celebrate living in the 20th and 21st and 22nd Century, and „things“ could run as smoothly as the trains at the Bahnhof. And we should all work and pray for Peace on This Planet.

Ulli works in a Metzgerei, cuttin' on cows all day
Ulli tries to be a vegetarian some days
Fell in love with Edith Piaff, first time he heard her sing
Though grandma dislikes the French and English
And the Americans... she grits her teeth at...
50 years have worn away, the memories on the stone
I just wish I knew for sure how to operate these phones
People rushing suddenly, anxious to be at home
I see the love in their eyes, and your future is full of hope
An' a girl and a guy with green an' blue hair an' eyes

I sole a can of Birgit's Peaches, wouldn't take a polygraph
I replaced the peaches and apologized after that fact
I saw Rommel reading his book, he was extremly sauve an' tan
My dad was in the United States Navy, but he fought against Japan
And I always loved the Volkswagen; I'd like to be able to buy one again

Join in the Bahnhof Tanz

I want to sing at the United Nations, I think I got a plan
I saw this infatable Playground, there in Dortmund
We can call all the Embassy's, all the Ambassadors
That we can,
Have them all take off their shoes and ties an' keep them playing
There for the weekend...
